Marie Fisherová Kveshova e a sua Arte I (1892 - 1984) - Marie Fisherová Kveshova and her Lovely Art I (1892 - 1984)

De nacionalidade Checa, a pintora e ilustradora Marie Fisherová estudou em Praga na Academia das Artes e ainda em Paris aonde permaneceu por um ano. Em virtude da eclosão da 1ª Guerra Mundial regressa a Praga, aonde casa com um médico Jan Fisher.

Tiveram três filhos, Maria, Yelena e Jana. Nos anos entre a 1ª e a 2ª Guerras Mundiais foi uma popular autora de livros para crianças. Após a ascensão do comunismo em 1948 foi proíbida de publicar por causa do seu gosto pelos valores tradicionais da sociedade cristã e da religiosidade natural de muitas das suas obras. Além do mundo das crianças, inspirava-se na natureza, nomeadamente no jardim em torno da sua casa, muitas vezes capturado em desenhos e aguarelas. Pintou também inúmeros esboços de trajes folclóricos.  

É conhecida principalmente como escritoar e ilustradora de livros infantis, ou como ilustrador de livros de outros autores (avó Bozena Nemcova , Beetles Jan Karafiát ). Pintou ainda retratos figurativos, paisagens, grafites,e murais para escolas. Os seus desenhos surgem em cartões postais, materiais promocionais, calendários,etc. Foi premiada com a Medalha de Ouro na Exposição de Artes Decorativas de Paris em 1925. O seu trabalho ainda hoje se torna conhecido pelo mundo inteiro através de cartões postais, que são valiosos itens de coleccionismo.
